„John Anderson, my jo“

The Book of Scottish Song, published in 1843, has been edited by Alexander Whitelaw. The text was written by Burns in 1789 to a very old tune, called John Anderson, my jo. The original John Anderson, according to tradition, is said to have been the town-piper of Kelso, a market town situated in the Council Area Scottish Borders.
